Census Bureau Lawsuit

Friday, June 7, 2019

The US District Court has decided to allow the State of Alabama to proceed with its lawsuit against the US Census Bureau and the Department of Commerce after the federal government motioned to dismiss it.

This lawsuit, filed by Attorney General Steve Marshall argues against the inclusion of illegal aliens in the final census count for purposes of determining Congressional apportionment. This will likely cause the state to lose a Congressional seat and an Electoral College vote. Marshall says he is grateful for the US District Court’s ruling and that the state will continue to make its case.
