"Rise and Shine" Workforce Development Series

Leaders throughout Etowah County came together today in order to discuss ongoing workforce initiatives and needs within their communities. A speaker from the University of Alabama’s Center for Economic Development spoke to community leaders about the dreams and aspirations they have for their community and how to accomplish them.

Workforce development entry and exit points were also a topic of discussion as some people are looking for other ways to help students transition from the K-12 system into the two-year system, to eventually working in a high-skilled and high-wage career.

Beggs says it’s important for leaders to regularly discuss topics that are in the best interest of the communities. Beggs says she hopes that the leaders of Etowah County continue to creatively work together to fulfill the dreams and aspirations within their communities.
