Gadsden State Community College Valley Street Campus recently added a program that will allow students to earn a successful career in the field of sonography. The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program accepted its first group of students during the Fall 2018 semester.
Since then, the program unexpectedly took in a second group of students earlier this year who were enrolled in Virginia College before its nationwide closure. With the program growing quickly, more space was needed in order to contain current students while also making room for more.
Southern says she is proud of what the comprehensive curriculum has to offer. Throughout the program, students are learning with the latest in imaging technology. The “hands-on” training approach helps students prepare for clinical rotations in addition to providing the best care for their patients.
