United Way Hosts Day of Action in Etowah County

Saturday, June 15, 2019

More than 600 volunteers joined in an annual event aimed at bettering their community. The United Way of Etowah County kicked off its 22nd annual Day of Action this morning at The Venue in Gadsden.

People of all ages rolled up their sleeves to help area nonprofits and schools with much-needed cleaning and improvement projects. Services included lawn work at the Family Success Center as well as general cleaning and painting at Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Day of Action Co-Chair Pam Clough tells us that this event is about uniting an entire community, whether it means serving, getting served, or sponsoring service projects.

It’s not too late for you to help the United Way.  You can check out their website at uwoec.org for contact information.
