A suspect is in custody following the death of a Gadsden woman over the weekend. According to Etowah County Sheriff Jonathon Horton, deputies found 33-year-old Amber Gattis at her home on McCluney Street with a gunshot wound to the head. Gattis was airlifted to UAB Hospital where she died.
The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office has charged the husband, 46-year-old Larry Gattis, with murder. He was arrested at the scene and taken to the Etowah County Detention Center where his cash bond has been set at $100,000. The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
