Make-A-Wish-Foundation Grants Wish for Calhoun County Child

A three-year-old child who is fighting the most common type of childhood cancer recently received the biggest surprise she could have ever asked for. Johanna Poole is three years old and is filled with life, laughter, and big smiles. Johanna is battling a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells.

Over the weekend, Johanna received a surprise through the “Make-A-Wish Foundation” of Alabama: her very own playground. Before the reveal of the playground, Johanna was treated to a makeover at Ulta Beauty in Gadsden. Johanna’s mother, Shea, says she’s thankful to the entire Make-A-Wish Foundation for making her daughter’s wish come true.

Poole says that Johanna has been receiving chemotherapy treatment since she was 19 months old, and soon, she will be cancer free. Poole also says she is extremely thankful for all the support Johanna has received from friends, family, and the community.
