Trinity Baptist Church Pastor Celebrates 50 Years

A local pastor who reaches 24 counties in East Alabama will celebrate his 50th anniversary this Sunday. Pastor C.O. Grinstead and his wife moved from northwest Indiana to Oxford in 1969 where he began serving as the Associate Pastor for Trinity Baptist Church.

During that time, there were roughly 4,000 people living in the city, and today, there are more than 20,000 residents. Pastor Grinstead left and remained a member of the church to do evangelism travel. Upon his return to Trinity, Doctor Grinstead was recommended as pastor, something he said he’d never imagined doing.

Over the years, Pastor Grinstead said he’s passed up several opportunities to pastor bigger ministries because nothing compares to this community. There will be a special Sunday service at 10am held at Trinity Baptist Church in celebration of Pastor Grinstead’s 50 years of ministry service in the Oxford community.
