The oldest state park in Alabama celebrates the completion of all the upgrades and renovation projects completed just in time for families to enjoy for the summer.
A ceremony was held today at Cheaha State Park to celebrate the reopening of all its campgrounds in addition to introducing new hiking trails, an educational exhibit, and several renovations to its restaurant and bath house. The Park also upgraded the chalets inside and outside with new furniture and appliances and replaced the roofs on the Cheaha Hotel. The Commissioner for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources shares what he enjoys most about Cheaha State Park.
Park Superintendent, Renee Raney, says voters made sure that every dollar spent in state parks stays in state parks. She is overwhelmed at the amount of improvements made so far.If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit Cheaha State Park, Raney says now is your chance.
