U.S. Government Investigating Chicken Industry

A lawsuit against the country’s biggest poultry producers has U.S. government involved in the investigation. In 2016, New York food service Distributor, Maplevale Farms, alleges that 28 chicken producers including Tyson, Sanderson, and Perdue conspired and combined to fix, raise, and stabilize the price of the predominant type of chicken raised for production in the U.S.

Walmart has recently joined that case by accusing the companies of killing hatchlings to raise prices and ramping up production once prices reached a level they were satisfied with.
