Gadsden Police Dept. Reports Spike in Counterfeit Money

According to WEIS Radio, the Gadsden Police Department reports that there has been a spike in counterfeit money over the last several weeks. There have been at least eight reports of counterfeit money in various denominations that include 20 and 100 dollar bills.

 

The Gadsden Police Department wants to remind residents and local businesses to be mindful of this spike when handling and exchanging money. Store personnel should also consider training their employees on what to look for regarding counterfeit money. If you are in the Gadsden area and suspect you have received any counterfeit currency, you are encouraged to contact the Gadsden Police Department.
