Officials at the Talladega Superspeedway opened their doors for a media tour of the construction progress at the track on Wednesday.
Crews have been hard at work to complete phase two of the Transformation Project. The $50 million endeavor will feature the Garage Experience which will be the highlight of the new infield. TV24 Sports was on hand today as the final beam of the new open-air social club went up on the structure. As per tradition, crew members signed the steel beam before putting it in place.
The new Open Air Social Club, which is 300 by 265 feet total, will be lined on both sides by two garages that will house the top 22 drivers (11 in each) in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Officials have been pleased with the speed of the progress.
Fans who purchase a Talladega Garage Experience (TGE) admission will receive access inside the Open Air Social Club, where they will be just a few steps away from the “up-close” fan viewing walkway and under the same roof where the race cars are being prepped by the race teams.
