Cherokee County Animal Cruelty Case

Investigators in Cherokee County are calling a recent animal cruelty case one of the worst they’ve ever seen. According to Veterinarian Dr. Jeremy Deaton, investigators responding to a welfare check at a home in Gaylesville last week, found 17 dogs, a horse and several goats in bad condition. Investigators confiscated the animals and took them to the Cherokee County Animal Control Center.

The dogs are being cared for at the animal control center and the other animals are being cared for by outside rescue groups. According to WEIS radio, two people were previously arrested in connection with this case.
