Jacksonville State Trustees Approve New Buildings for 2021

Wednesday, July 17, 2019

The JSU Board of Trustees today approved two new buildings to replace Merrill and Wallace Halls which were both damaged by last year’s tornado. The new business school building will span more than 108,000 square feet with a price tag of about $50 million. JSU will pay about $10 million of the project with the remainder coming from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and insurance money.

The new health professions program facility is expected to cost about $31 million dollars and will be about 62,000 square feet. JSU will cover about $20 million of that cost.

Both new facilities are set to be completed in the spring of 2021.
