Alabama State Parks Celebrate 200 Years With Free Park Admission


The state of Alabama has nearly two dozen state parks with about 47,000 acres, 250 trails, and plenty of things to do. You are encouraged to visit one of those beautiful locations tomorrow, at no cost. The Alabama State Parks system will celebrate 200 years of Alabama statehood on the 200th day of the year by offering free admission and free parking.

In addition, the state is offering a 20 percent discount at its locations with overnight accommodations. The Alabama State Parks system is also celebrating its 80th anniversary. Alabama’s oldest continuously operated park, Cheaha, opened in the early 1930s.
