Fish Consumption Warning

The Alabama Department of Public Health is advising you not to eat largemouth bass from the majority of the state’s waterways due to concerns over mercury contamination. State health officials also recommend that you avoid eating striped bass from the Coosa River along with Spotted Bass from the Lay or Logan Morgan reservoirs.

The Alabama Department of Public Health issues the advisories after completing an annual report based on data from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
