What started as a food pantry out of a local home has turned into a ministry serving at least five counties in east Alabama. On Saturday, Tony and Brandy Mitchell celebrated one year of their outreach ministry called Bless-N-Basket.
When it first started, the ministry served about 15 local families, and now has grown to provide food for about 1,000 people each month. The couple says their efforts are about more than just satisfying hunger.
Bless-N-Basket now works with New Hope Ministries where the couple serves as outreach ministers. The food distribution is held on the third Saturday of each month at 1pm. You may contact the Mitchells at (256) 676-8417 for more information.
