Sunday Alcohol Sales Vote in Oxford

Registered voters in the city of Oxford will soon get the chance to say if they want to legalize Sunday alcohol sales within their city limits. The Oxford City Council will hold a special election Tuesday regarding the issue of Sunday alcohol sales. A “yes” vote would give the Oxford City Council the authority to approve Sunday liquor sales; a “no” vote would keep the current prohibition.

Several other cities in Calhoun County, including Anniston, Jacksonville and Weaver, have already approved Sunday sales. Anyone who is a registered voter and has lived in the Oxford city limits for 30 days or more can vote in tomorrow’s referendum. The list of polling sites is on shown above. Polls will be open tomorrow from 7am until 7pm.
