Thursday, July 25, 2019

The votes are in as Oxford have decided to allow the city council to approve Sunday alcohol sales within the city limits. A special election was held Tuesday for registered voters to give their opinion of Sunday alcohol sales.

The unofficial results from last night’s vote shows that 64% of residents voted in favor of Sunday sales while 36% voted against it. If the city council approves, Oxford will become one of several cities in Calhoun County to have Sunday alcohol sales. Some of those other cities include Jacksonville, Anniston, and Weaver.
