Sunday Alcohol Sales Take Effect September 1st in Oxford
The City of Oxford’s Public Information Officer, Taylor Sloan, tells TV24 that the final votes for Sunday alcohol sales are in after the special election held last Tuesday. More than 1,700 residents voted in favor while more than 900 voted against. Sunday sales will officially take effect on September first.
Residents will not be allowed to purchase alcohol between the hours of 2am and 7am on Sunday’s. Oxford will now be one of several cities within the Calhoun County limits to serve alcohol on Sunday.
