A major automotive supplier has officially broke ground on its newest manufacturing plant in Gadsden. Motus Integrated Technologies will soon employ 100 people once its $15 million manufacturing plant is built in Gadsden’s Airport Industrial Park.
The plant will produce automotive interior parts and headliners. With more than 2,000 employees worldwide, Motus states the jobs in Gadsden will have an average wage of more than $20 per hour. Alabama Governor Kay Ivey says the state is moving in the right direction as it continues to advance in the automotive manufacturing industry.
Construction is scheduled to begin next month and the completion of the project is expected to be completed by mid-2020.
