The World's Longest Yard Sale Begins for a 32nd Year

If you like yard sales and scenic drives, the 127 Yard Sale that kicked off today in Gadsden may be just what you are looking for. Starting at Noccalula Falls in Gadsden and winding up 690 miles north in Addison, Michigan, the 127 Yard Sale bills itself as the World’s Longest Yard sale.

The route goes from Gadsden along the Lookout Mountain Parkway to Chattanooga, where it joins with Highway 127, which provided its name. It’s a major event for communities along the route, and Amber Jean Hyde of Greater Gadsden Tourism says it gets bigger every year. Hyde says the 127 yard sale attracts a devoted set of vendors along with an equally devoted set of customers.

The 127 Yard Sale continues through Sunday evening.
