Mini-grants for Educators
A new opportunity for local public school educators to apply for mini-grants has been announced by State Senator Andrew Jones. According to WEIS Radio, public school teachers in Senate District 10 may apply for up to $100 in mini-grant funding for classroom supplies, books, teaching materials, and other items. Senator Jones secured a total of $106,000 in education funding for public schools in Etowah and Cherokee Counties. Schools in Collinsville and Crossville in Dekalb County are eligible for the mini-grants as well.
Grant awards are limited to 20 per K-12 school or Career Tech School and 10 per Alternative School. Classroom teachers, librarians, and education staff within the district are eligible to apply through an application provided by your school principal. Applications are due by August 20th and grant checks will be given later in the fall.
