Community Leaders Forum Held to Educate on 2020 Census

Friday, August 9, 2019

Census 2020 will be on April first and it’s not too soon for you to get educated on what the census is and why it matters to the community. A community leaders forum was held to discuss how the census can impact our communities in multiple ways.

Data, funding, and legislative redistricting are just a few things that could be impacted by the census. Adults aren’t the only ones who play a role in counting our population next year, children are too. VOICES for Alabama’s Children is traveling to all 67 counties in the state to visit with community leaders to discuss ways to ensure there is maximum participation during the 2020 census.

Mann says it’s important to remember that everyone matters and everyone counts. For more information, visit www.census.alabama.gov.
