Visitors planning to make a trip to the Freedom Riders National Monument will have to take a detour as it has been temporarily relocated. The Calhoun County Area Chamber and Visitor Center has partnered with the National Park Service to relocate the National Monument while its permanent location on Gurnee Avenue is being completed.
Visitors can stop by the Chamber of Commerce to receive the stamp for their National Parks Passport and learn more about what Calhoun County has to offer. The chamber is open Monday through Friday from 8am until 5pm. Visitors will still be able to get their books stamped and pick up brochures after business hours and on the weekends.
