Cooling Stations Opening Due to Recent Significant Heat Warnings

Tuesday, August 13, 2019

The heat is up as several cities in our viewing area saw temperatures as high as 102 degrees today. The significant heat wave is expected to extend into tomorrow. Those who must work outside are encouraged to drink plenty of water, cover your body in light colored clothing, and take frequent breaks.

If you do not have air conditioning inside your home, there are several cooling stations throughout Etowah County shown on your screen that will be open tomorrow. The Salvation Army in Gadsden will be open 24 hours.

Residents in Calhoun County are advised to call 211 to locate a cooling center near you.
