The Cedar Bluff town council has approved a request to rezone a portion of property to make way for a possible new housing development. A developer plans to build as many as 102 homes in a subdivision called Legacy Park.
The land is located along Highway 9 between Cherokee County Road 131 and Summer Place Road. The council voted Monday to rezone the property to restrict what types of structures can be built there.
The developer said the new subdivision would boost the economy in Cedar Bluff.
