Men Arrested on Possession Charges in Cherokee County

Cherokee County deputies were involved in a car chase Tuesday evening that put three men behind bars. Chadwick Phillips, Kenneth Kennedy, and Marvin Fortenberry were traveling south on Highway 9 when deputies attempted to stop their vehicle. The three men, from Piedmont, kept driving and began throwing illegal drugs out the window before deputies were able to completely stop the vehicle. Methamphetamine and heroin were just two items recovered by deputies.

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, the men were arrested and charged with multiple crimes including Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Evidence, and Attempting to Elude. They are all being held inside the Cherokee County Detention Center with bonds totaling more than $26,000.
