Spring Garden High School Teacher Chosen as Finalist for PAEMST

A Spring Garden High School teachers has been selected as a finalist to receive the nation’s highest honor for K-12 mathematics and science teachers. Stephanie Steward teaches math for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students at Spring Garden High School. The Piedmont native received her bachelors, masters, and education specialist degrees from Jacksonville State.

 

Steward is one of five Alabama teachers to be nominated for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. These awards are given to the top educators for their contributions to the classroom and the teaching profession. The finalists will be recognized later during a special awards luncheon this fall by the Alabama State Board of Education.
