Speed Limit Lowered in Piedmont

The City of Piedmont’s downtown district will be safer for both drivers and pedestrians after the city council passed an ordinance to lower the speed limit. According to WEIS Radio, portions of Ladiga Street and Center Avenue’s speed limit were lowered from 20mph to 15mph.

Council member Greg South proposed the change with hopes of making the area safer for drivers who use the street parking and to create a smoother ride for drivers using the new repaired brick crosswalks.
