The man who led police on a high speed chase from Etowah County into Calhoun Tuesday afternoon is now facing multiple charges in both counties. 31-year-old Dustin Strong of Etowah is being charged with Reckless Endangerment, Attempting to Elude, and Resisting Arrest. Strong reportedly led Etowah County deputies on a high speed chase down Highway 431 before entering into Calhoun County.
After his vehicle ran out of gas on the bypass, Strong left his vehicle and ran down an embankment on foot. Law enforcement officials used a drone, and canine to locate Strong in a wooded area. According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Strong is currently being held on a $9,000 bond and is expected to face additional charges in Etowah County once he is released.
