East Alabama Workforce Workshop

A non-profit organization that helps bridge the gap between businesses, industries, and communities held a workshop to help prepare people for the explosive job growth that’s expected to come in the state’s manufacturing sector. Economic developers, employers, and educators were invited to participate in the Workforce Workshop at the Honda Training Center in Lincoln.

With several manufacturing expansions, and new projects announced throughout the state this year, more jobs will become available over the next few years. The workshop was held to identify the needs within the workforce and how to prepare people for the highly-trained jobs.

Speakers from the Governor’s office, the Department of Labor and others were present to give the overall comprehensive story on the exciting opportunities the state will soon offer.

Other workforce workshops held in North and Central Alabama had a positive response to the communities in those areas. The goal is for economic developers, employers, and educators to take the information learned during today’s workshop and feed it to local communities to give everyone an equal opportunity for a career in their preferred field.
