200+ Footwear Companies Ask Trump to Cancel Tariffs

Friday, August 30, 2019

Chinese tariffs implemented by President Donald Trump have footwear companies worried about pricing for American customers. Just last week, President Trump said that he would increase tariffs on $300 billion worth on Chinese imports.

More than 200 companies, including Nike, Adidas, and Converse sent the President letters Wednesday, asking him to cancel the new tariffs on Chinese imports. In the letters, companies express how the tariffs will have a hidden tax and affect American jobs and growth in those companies.

The increase in tariffs will be set in place on Sunday, however, most products will not be affected until mid-December.
