New Roofs Being Placed on Historic Cabins in Cheaha State Park

Wednesday, September 4, 2019

Other changes are underway at Cheaha State Park as the historic cabins are getting new roofs. The previous ones sustained hail damage from the tornado that struck the City of Jacksonville.

Exterior lights and many trees throughout the park were also damaged. Assistant Superintendent Kyle Kinman says these cabins are an important piece of history and he is excited to finally see the necessary repairs being made.

Kinman says he is thankful to all the park’s supporters and partners who have made these changes and upgrades possible. The Pinhoti Trail connecter is now open for everyone to enjoy.
