Google to Pay $170 Million Over Child Privacy Laws
Google reached a settlement agreement over alleged ads that targeted children. The Federal Trade Commission accused Google’s video website, Youtube, of illegally selling advertisements aimed at children to strengthen ad revenue.
The $170 million settlement also calls for Youtube to now require makers of children’s videos to declare whether their content is targeted at kids. Google released a statement about the settlement saying they are committed to providing the best experience possible on Youtube for children and families.
