50th Anniversary of the Unveiling of the Noccalula Statue in Gadsden
A statue that helps tell the story of a young Native American woman and her tragic encounter with a 90 foot waterfall has been a tourist attraction for 50 years and the public is invited to celebrate its anniversary. Noccalula Falls Park 50th Anniversary Statue Dinner will take place September 19th at 6 p.m in the newly renovated Kiwanis Pavilion.
Representatives from the City of Gadsden will be in attendance as well as members of the Gadsden’s Woman’s Club who are the donors of the statue. Tickets for the event are available to purchase at the Downtown Civic Center. Proceeds will benefit the Woman’s Club.
Noccalula Falls will continue to celebrate the statue’s 50th anniversary by offering a “Free Day at the Falls” on September 21st. Visitors will have the opportunity to take advantage of all the amenities the park has to offer including the petting zoo, and the C.P. Huntington train.
