What started off as an idea from a Weaver resident has now motivated Mayor Wayne Willis to create a safe location for bicycle storage. Many residents who enjoy riding bikes down the Chief Ladiga Trail in Weaver don’t have the proper transportation to get their bikes to and from the trail.
A Weaver resident took it upon herself to pitch an idea to Weaver Mayor Wayne Willis, that consisted of building a bike rack and carport behind city hall. Mayor Willis says when he took the idea to social media, he received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, and began to come up with a concrete plan.
Mayor Willis says the storage units will be for everyone and not just Weaver residents. Willis also says that although there isn’t a set timeline for completion, he plans on doing most of the labor himself in order to have the project completed in a timely manner.
