Alabama Investigating Five Cases of Lung Disease Tied to Vaping

As vaping continues to become an uprising issue, the Alabama Department of Public Health is currently investigating reports of lung disease associated with electronic cigarettes or vaping. While the department continues to evaluate these cases, the reports are commonly coming from young adults and adolescents. The main symptoms to look for are chest pain and vomiting.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported more than 450 cases of lung illness related to the use of vaping. The department will be joining other state health departments in requesting information on any cases related to respiratory illness and vaping. Five deaths have been confirmed in California, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Oregon.
