HS Football Awards - Week 2

Week two of the high school football season is in the books. Most teams started region play and here's a look at the weekly award winners:

KFC-Pigskin Roundup Team of the Week: Westbrook Christian The Warriors shutout Vinemont 35-0 on Friday night in non-region action. Westbrook also got some revenge on the Eagles who beat them 15-13 last season. For their big win, the entire team and coaching staff will pick up the team of the week meal and t-shirts provided by KFC. The Warriors improved to 3-0 on the season as they enter region play this week against West End.

RMC Player of the Week: Jack Hayes - Piedmont The freshman was sensational in the Bulldogs’ 28-0 win over Pleasant Valley. Hayes completed 19 of 26 passes for 245 yards and four touchdowns. He also tacked on 50 rushing yards in the victory. Hayes and the Bulldogs are 2-0 on the season and return to region play in a top four matchup against Randolph County.
