"Prepared Not Scared" National Preparedness Month
September is known as National Preparedness Month and the Gadsden-Etowah Emergency Management Agency wants to encourage everyone to take this opportunity to be better prepared for emergencies that could affect your community. This year’s theme for National Preparedness Month is “Prepared, Not Scared.” Several tips from the Gadsden-Etowah EMA shown above will help you be prepared in the event of a natural disaster or any other emergency.
Saving money for disaster costs is important as well as knowing what kind of insurance coverage you have. Families should make and practice emergency plans. Every community should have an evacuation plan and zone that is available on your county’s Emergency Management Agency’s website.
