A wanted Gaylesville man is behind bars after leading police on a chase into Georgia. WEIS Radio reports that Waylon Epps was driving on Highway 68 without a tag and officers who were patrolling the area spotted Epps’ vehicle. As officers attempting to stop Epps, he sped away, eventually crossing over into Chattooga County, Georgia.
With help from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, Epps was stopped and arrested on Highway 100. While officers searched his vehicle, methamphetamine along with a shotgun was discovered. Epps is currently being held in Chattooga County on drugs and weapons charges.
Once he is released, he will be transported to Cherokee County to face several charges including: having outstanding warrants for assault, driving on a revoked license, and more.
