JSU President Takes Leave of Absence

Tuesday, September 24, 2019

Less than a week after several students were arrested and charged with rape, the president of a local university will soon take a “leave of absence” to care for family members with “serious medical health issues.” An emergency meeting was held by JSU’s Board of Trustees over the weekend where it was announced that University President, John Beehler, has been granted a 90 day leave of absence to focus on family health issues.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Randy Jones, says that Doctor Beehler’s leave is in no way related to the accusations of second degree statutory rape allgations that involve several JSU students. Beginning on October 1st, President Beehler’s leave of absence will go into effect.

Jones says that security measures will be expanding and during Beehler’s absence, the board has complete faith in the faculty and staff’s ability to manage the university's day to day operations.
