Blood Pressure Medicine Recall

A pharmaceutical company has extended its recall of high blood pressure medications due to “trace amounts” of a known cancer-causing substance. The Food and Drug Administration announced that several more batches of Losartan Potassium tablets have been recalled.

The tablets are used to prevent the risk of stroke in people with high blood pressure in addition to treating kidney disease in Type 2 diabetic patients. The FDA says patients who take these tablets should continue to do so until you speak with your physician about alternative options.
