HS Football Awards - Week 4


Week four of the high school season featured additional region games to continue sorting out the early region leaders. Here's a look at the weekly award winners:

KFC - Pigskin Roundup Team of the Week: Oxford The Yellow Jackets climbed out of a 19-point hole to upset the No. 2 team in the state and defending champion Pinson Valley on the road 34-33. The win moves the club to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in region play. The victory also means the entire team and coaching staff will pick up the team of the week meal and t-shirts provided by KFC. Oxford will enjoy an off week on September 27th. They return to action on October 4th in region another region game against Huffman.

RMC Player of the Week: Brady Troup - Etowah The junior was sensational in the Blue Devils’ 56-32 win over county-rival Southside. Troup went 13 of 17 passing with 343 yards and a school-record five touchdowns in the victory. Troup and the Devils move to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in region play. Etowah faces Fort Payne this Friday night in Attalla.
