Jacksonville High School's Parker Comisac Named Commended Student

A Jacksonville High School senior is being recognized for his exceptional academic promise. Parker Comisac has been named a Commended Student in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. Out of more than 1.5 million students who entered the competition, only 34,000 were students were commended.

Last year, Comisac took the National Merit Qualifying test, and placed among the top 50,000 scorers. The senior says he was very pleased at how well he performed and is excited to see what this recognition will do for him in the future.

Comisac says he hasn’t chosen what college he will be attending after graduation but has applied to universities like Alabama, Auburn and Vanderbilt. The senior wants to get a degree in business-investments and has dreams of one day working with stock trading.
