McCord's Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department Awarded Protective Equipment Grant

Congressman Mike Rogers has recently announced that the McCord’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded a more than $52,000 grant to purchase nineteen sets of structural fire suppression personal protective equipment. The grant was awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program which aims to enhance the fire department’s ability to protect the public and fire service personnel.

The life expectancy of the gear is ten years or less and having gear in good condition is crucial to firefighter and public safety. The fire department hopes to have the new equipment purchased and in service by the Spring of 2020.
