Keep Alabama Beautiful Invites Anniston and Oxford Cities to Network

Tuesday, October 1, 2019

A workshop was held today at the Anniston City Meeting Center for community leaders who want to improve recycling efforts and beautify their community. “Keep America Beautiful” has invited Anniston and Oxford to join its national network that aims to keep communities across the country, beautiful. Local organization leaders, pastors, and other community leaders were invited to participate in the community workshop to learn better ways to prevent litter and keep their community clean.

In order for a community to be apart of “Keep America Beautiful” there are certain requirements that must be met in order for the area to qualify for certain resources, grants, and awards. National Trainer Sue Smith isn’t surprised to see areas of East Alabama on the recruitment list. Smith says they are actively looking for anyone who has an interest in joining the movement.

For more information on how to be apart of “Keep Alabama Beautiful” call 256-231-7702 or email Frasier Burroughs at Fburroughs@AnnistonAL.gov.
