A warehouse fire in Attalla shutdown Highway 77 from Case Avenue to Highway 11. School traffic was redirected through Camp Sibert while more than 10 fire departments responded to the fire. During the fire, water hydrants in the area were completely tapped out and residents’ water pressure had to be shut off.
Fire trucks were forced to drive back and forth in order to refill on water to help fight the large blaze. According to WEIS Radio, the Gadsden-Etowah Emergency Management Agency also requested tanker trucks from Cherokee County to help get the fire under control.
