Firefighters have been fighting a large warehouse fire in Attalla for three days with 90% of the fire being contained. Investigators still have yet to go inside the building to find the cause of what started this fire on Monday afternoon. Since the fire began, more than 150 firefighters responded to the scene from 10 counties. At least 30 firefighters have been treated for heat exhaustion.
There are still about four fire departments on the scene working to completely extinguish the fire. WEIS Radio reports that there are some concerns about the air quality as a result of the large amount of smoke from the fire. Attalla Fire Chief Robert Dillard says there will be smoke issues for several more days and urges anyone with asthma or allergies to stay indoors until air quality improves.
