HS Football Awards - Week 5


Teams across the state stepped out of region play in week five. Here are the weekly winners after another great week of high school competition.

KFC - Pigskin Roundup Team of the Week: Munford The Lions got a little revenge over their arch-rivals from Lincoln with a 24-10 win at Munford Stadium Friday night. The Lions have now won two straight under first-year head coach Michael Easley and 3-3 overall. For their victory, the entire team and coaching staff will enjoy the Team of the Week chicken dinner as well as the t-shirts provided by KFC. Munford will also jump back into region play in a home game against Moody.

RMC Player of the Week: Ryley Kirk The junior was very efficient and productive in the Panthers 44-21 win over county-rival Sand Rock. Kirk completed 10 of 14 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns. The victory marked their 4th straight and improved to 4-1 on the year.Kirk and the Panthers head back into region play this week with a home game against Talladega County Central this Friday night.
