14 Southern States Under "Flash Drought" Conditions


More than 45 million people throughout 14 southern states are now in the midst of what is being called a “flash drought.” The drought is cracking farm soil, drying up ponds, and raising the risk of wildfires.

According to the weekly report from the US Drought Monitor, extreme drought conditions are in parts of Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and several other states.
